Kimi Antonelli secures pole at the Belgian GP with a spectacular time

The Italian Kimi Antonelli has achieved pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix, clocking a time of 1m44.361s which allowed him to surpass Max Verstappen by just 0.317s. This victory marks Antonelli’s sixth pole of the season, thus continuing Mercedes‘ domination in the standings of this campaign.

The Mercedes driver had to compete against Verstappen, who gained an initial advantage by utilizing a “tow” from the cars of other competitors. Antonelli, however, demonstrated his superiority at the end, with a time that no other drivers could match during the final laps.

Behind them, Lando Norris recorded the third fastest time but faces a ten-place grid penalty for the race, starting from thirteenth position. His initial lap was promising, but he chose not to complete the second, avoiding the danger of a collision with the wall after a minor incident at turn 13.

The second row of the grid will be occupied by George Russell and Charles Leclerc, with Lewis Hamilton qualifying sixth, despite a minor accident at the end of the session, which did not have serious consequences for his vehicle.

At the back of the grid, both Alpine and Haas drivers faced complications, with Alex Albon being excluded at the end of the first qualifying round. The Belgian GP promises to be an exciting spectacle, with Antonelli determined to leave his mark on the competition.
