Kenzo Craigie shines in the post-season tests of the Formula Regional Europe

Driver Kenzo Craigie, junior of Mercedes-AMG F1, has stood out in the third and final session of the post-season tests of the Formula Regional Europe, achieving the best time of the day.

Scott Lindblom, from Van Amersfoort Racing, managed to surpass Craigie in the afternoon by 0.086 seconds, but it should be noted that the second session proved considerably slower, without any driver improving their morning best time.

In the first minutes of the morning session, Craigie was the first to go below 1:26, and later his teammate, Oleksandr Bondarev, took the lead.

During the following 30 minutes, times dropped drastically, with MP Motorsport drivers Dries Van Langendonck, Rocco Coronel, and Kasper Schormans, along with Lindblom and Ty Fisher from Prema, alternating at the top of the table.

Van Langendonck set a standout time of 1:25.093 after an hour of session, but Craigie responded with five consecutive laps under 1:25.5, ultimately ending up with a spectacular time of 1:25.066, which kept him in first place.

The two MP drivers, Van Langendonck and Coronel, occupied the top two positions, followed by Lindblom and Schormans. Bondarev finished in sixth place, ahead of Alex Ninovic from Rodin Motorsport and Miguel Costa, who this time raced with CL Motorsport.

One of the surprising moments of the day was Jensen Burnett’s tenth position, an American driver who made his appearance in the tests after not participating in the sessions on Tuesday. Burnett, who has competed in Formula 4 in Spain and Italy, took over the Rodin vehicle previously driven by Costa.

RPM made changes to its lineup with the arrival of Marcus Saeter and Teo Borenstein. Saeter was one of the drivers who surprised last season with G4 Racing, while Borenstein is currently second in the F4 Central Europe.

Lindblom dominated the afternoon session, improving his best time three times in four laps during the first 15 minutes. Despite Craigie’s attempts to surpass him, he could not achieve a better time than Lindblom, who finally clocked 1:26.025.

After six days of intense post-season testing, the prospects for the 2027 season look very encouraging, with a new generation of promising drivers and experienced competitors ready to face the upcoming season.
