Kart Republic wins in Lonato again

Copyright: Kart Republic

Another all-In for Kart R in OKJ, filling the entire podium in Lonato at the second round of the 2020 WSK Super Master Series. Arvid Lindblad gained a great win after battling with Brando Badoer; the Italian (son of former F1 driver Luca Badoer) made a fantastic job for the entire week end, scoring another pole position and winning heats.

Third place for Igor Cepil, also very consistent, definitely in a positive spin after the first few races of the season.

Another mighty performance from Andrea Kimi Antonelli in OK; although the win is still missing, the young Italian keeps showing some serious speed and will surely score his first OK win soon.
Antonelli was closely followed by Taylor Barnard, who nicely recovered from the back, one more time showing great pace.

Positive signs from KZ, with Thompson and our new-entry Albanese finally in action, showing good and promising performance.

OKJ driver, Igor Cepil: I felt good with both the chassis and the engine! Lots of fighting during both the pre-final and the final and I made it to finish in P3, but I wanted to finish 2nd

Second on the OKJ podium, Brando Badoer: My weekend started pretty well, since I scored pole position on Friday and me and the team made a good job during the heats, as I won 4 out of 5. I finished second in both the pre-final and the final, after big battles with my opponents. I’m happy after all, we found a really nice set-up and the feeling was really good.

OK driver, Andrea Kimi AntonelliFourth race in OK for me and again a podium; I feel pretty good about it! We’ve had good speed for all the weekend, with good performance in both qualifying and heats. I won pre-final A and gained pole position for the final; I had a contact on turn 2, which made me lose quite some time and we came to a point, towards the end, where I started struggling with the tires.
This Championship will be tough till the end, but I expect better performance for the upcoming races, with warmer weather.

Kart Republic General Manager, Dino Chiesa: Nothing much to say about OKJ, as we filled the whole podium, so pretty good stuff! We have 5/6 drivers who can finish in the podium in this class and they’re going to be fighting all the time; some of them might miss the podium but not for a lack of performance.

We failed to win again in OK; I think our two main competitors are missing a little bit of experience compared to our opponents. They’re fast and I’m sure they’re going to fill the gap and also become winners in short time.

Pretty good debut for Albanese, our new driver in KZ, although he was forced to start from the back in the final due to some crashed happened during the heats where he got involved. He gained some places and showed a solid pace, considering this was his first race for this season.

Also very good performance from Thompson, back to KZ after few races in OK.
