Tony Kanaan has been the fastest in the first practice session of the IndyCar in NOLA Motorsports Park (Louisiana, USA), while the second session was affected by rain and Power has been the fastest on it.

Some free practices where Honda has not seemed to be too behind and in that teams have attempted to preserve tires workouts, the main action of the circuit has been track spins that caused six red flags.

Ganassi at the top again

Tony Kanaan has managed to be the fastest of the session followed by his teammate Scott Dixon. Kanaan seems to be now the strongest Ganassi driver, looking for that role since joining the team in 2014.

Bourdais continued with his pace and finished fourth followed by Pagenaud and Newgarden, Power was second and Montoya, tenth. The top 7 were Chevrolets while the first Honda has been the Schmidt Motorsports Peterson from James Hinchcliffe.

First rain of the year in IndyCar
Between sessions a heavy storm has landed in the circuit; attendees had to cover themselves for a while. A rain has delayed the session one hour, and then when it has been running for 20 minutes commissioners have taken the red flag to dry the track to enjoy the last 10 minutes in the dry land.
The cars have been very stable on track, but when they took a wrong trace, they suffered an off-track. Times have improved in each lap and at the end, some scares in the final seconds to Jakes (Schmid Peterson Motorsport) who left track in Turn 7, but it was Will Power who managed to be the fastest of the session followed by Hunter-Reay, Pagenaud and an amazing Coletti in fourth position.
