Kelley Earnhardt Miller, co-owner and CEO of JR Motorsports, has hinted that star driver Justin Allgaier will continue his career at least during the 2027 season of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
In an interview on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Earnhardt Miller spoke with Larry McReynolds and seemed to confirm that Allgaier will be in competition for another year. Kelley’s comments come at a time when Allgaier is enjoying an exceptional season, with six wins, his personal record, and is positioned as a title favorite.
At 40 years old, Allgaier has shown magnificent performance, having clinched his first title in the 2024 season. Kelley stated: “He is enjoying a lot. We don’t see him simply as a 40-year-old veteran, but as someone who is having fun… I am very happy that we convinced him to continue for a couple more years and not retire yet.”
Kelley’s assertions caught McReynolds’ attention, who asked for clarification on whether Allgaier would really continue for another year, as he had previously expressed doubts about returning for the 2026 season.
In response, Kelley tried to moderate her words, saying that “we could have him with us,” but assured that Allgaier can be counted on in the future. Currently, Allgaier has over 500 starts and 34 wins in his series career.
