The British driver, Jordan King, joins the dutch team MP Motorsport to dispute his third season in GP2 Series.

After two successful years in F3 and one title in British F3 in 2013, Jordan King joined GP2 in 2015 with Racing Engineering by the time he became part of Manor Marussia in F1 as development driver. But his teammate in GP2, Alexander Rossi, overtook him on their way to F1.

In 2016, King showed a big progress as he doubled his points in the championship, scoring two wins and fighting side by side with his teammate, Norman Nato, all the season long. King’s performances helped him to get into F1: at the end of the year he participated in two free-practice sessions with Manor (Austin and Abu Dhabi). He comments:

“I am really looking forward to racing with MP Motorsport for the 2017 season. I have known the team a long time and worked with them straight out of karting, so in a way it is a bit of a homecoming for me. One of the biggest reasons for me to join them was the level of trust that comes with such a longstanding relationship.”

Tony Shaw, MP Motorsport’s team principal, comments King’s arrival:

“Our relationship with Jordan extends back to his original move into single seaters from karting. We know his undoubted speed, ability and obvious fitness very well. On the two occasions that he’s tested our GP2 car we have been very taken with the professionalism coupled with excellent pace and calm feedback.”

King will share team with the rookie Sergio Sette Camara, who has jumped from F3 to GP2 Series.
