Jesse Love Joins Wood Brothers Racing for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Season

Wood Brothers Racing has announced that it has signed Jesse Love, champion of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2025, for the 2027 NASCAR Cup season. This decision marks a new chapter for the team, which seeks to consolidate its success with one of the most promising young drivers at the moment.

At only 21 years old, Love entered the motorsport scene in 2023, winning 10 of the 20 ARCA races and securing the crown. He has continued to stand out with Richard Childress Racing, where he has accumulated three victories in the NASCAR O’Reilly and competed in seven Cup races, with a best finish of 24th place in the latest Brickyard 400.

Love expresses gratitude for the opportunity: “Driving the No. 21 for Wood Brothers Racing is a true honor. This team has been fundamental in NASCAR’s history, and the drivers who have occupied the seat of this car are some of the best we have seen. I am very grateful to everyone at Wood Brothers Racing, Team Penske, and Ford Racing for believing in me. I am excited to start working and continue learning at the highest level.”

The young driver will replace Josh Berry, who spent two seasons with the team. Wood Brothers Racing, one of the oldest teams in NASCAR, dates back to the 1950s and has recorded a total of 101 victories.

Jon Wood, president of Wood Brothers Racing, has expressed his confidence in Love: “Jesse has accomplished a lot at such a young age. He has demonstrated his ability to win races and compete for championships, as well as the expectations that come with competing at a high level. We are eager to give him the opportunity to take the next step with the No. 21.”
