Jean-Eric Vergne invicible at the qualifying

Jean-Eric Vergne had no rival at the qualifying of the FIA Prix of Paris at the Formula E, at the eight test of the season. The French qualified ahead of Bird his rival at the championship.

The qualifying group draw was surprising because all the leaders of the championship were selected in the first group.

Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah) was the fastest of the session qualifying in 1:01.508 which also was the fastest time of the qualifying.

Only Sam Bird (DS Virgin) could pass to the superpole with drivers as  Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) or Felix Rosenqvist (Mahindra Racing).

At the second group, André Lotterer (Techeetah) touched the walls a little bit but he finished in 3rd position, qualified to the superpole after a lap full of difficulties, even touching the walls. Lucas Di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler) the current champion was not qualified.

At the third group the Portuguese António Felix da Costa (Andretti Autosport) gave the surprise which an incredible second position, only at 0.055 seconds from Vergne.

Maro Engel (Venturi) in the last group surprised everyone finishing third at the final qualifying.
Thus,the qualified to the superpole were: Vergne, Da Costa, Engel, Bird and Lotterer
At the superpole Engel couldn’t keep the third position but qualified 4th and Da Costa couldn’t keep the second position and will start 5th.

The battle for the pole position was disputed by Techeetah and Sam Bird. Vergne being the last one in giving a fastest lap was achieved a great time 1:01.144, Bird in second position and Lotterer third.

The Paris formula E.Prix will take place this afternoon at four o’clock, European time.
