Italian racer Jarno Trulli is returning to the FIA Formula E Championship this weekend in place of Salvador Duran.
The ex-F1 veteran will drive for his eponymous team in Malaysia this weekend alongside countryman Vitantonio Liuzzi.
“Salvador was in breach of contract,” Trulli explained. “It was a last-minute call, we had to replace him here and nobody else was around”
After missing the Beijing ePrix when the team was unable to enter its cars for scrutineering due to parts held up in Chinese customs, Trulli is confident that the Motomatica JT-01 will be able to run this weekend.
As the team did not compete in Beijing, the change of driver is not considered to be part of Trulli’s two permitted driver changes per season.
