The KNAF Talent First program from Netherlands will place another of his top driver in the SMP F4 NEZ Championship for the coming season.
After years topping the chats in the karting world, Dutch driver Jarno Opmeer will be fighting in the SMP F4 NEZ Championship in 2016 along with his fellow countryman Richard Verschoor who already confirmed his entrance few weeks ago.
It is a family history which brought Opmeer on the motorsport scene from his early age, being the youngest Dutch champion ever at nine years old, he surely made his relatives proud. “My grandfather, father and uncle were karting drivers, so that’s how I started to be connected with the sport. I started karting when I was four years old and really liked the speed. That’s how I started my racing career” commented Jarno Opmeer.
After the first test day in Motorland where the rookie impressed the field with his skills on wet conditions, the KNAF Talent First program led by Maarten Van Wesenbeeck confirmed Jarno Opmeer as the second Dutch driver to enroll in the second-year championship certified by FIA.
“Jarno is a very talented driver who was part of our KNAF Talent First karting program for many years. It is great that he choose to enter the SMP F4 NEZ Championship for his step onto single-seaters. I think he will surprise many people with outstanding results”, commented Maarten Van Wesenbeeck
Jarno Opmeer commented: “I feel very happy and confident to join the Series! The circuits look cool and the cars are the same because of the strict regulations so there’s no advantage for anyone. After few hours in the car, my confidence grew up and now I am improving each and every time I jump in it. This year, I will be patient and gather experience by finishing races. Let’s see what the season will bring”.
The sixteen years old Dutch driver will join the 2016 SMP F4 NEZ grid which is growing day after day.
