Jamin holds on Urrutia to win at Mid-Ohio

Nico Jamin got the third Indy Lights season victory at Mid-Ohio in the United States. The Frenchman has ensured the win despite Urrutia – second- pressure, and took advantage of Herta mistake. Blackstock completes the podium.

Colton Herta (Andretti Steinbrenner Racing) started from pole position alongside yesterday’s race winner, Santiago Urrutia (Belardi Auto Racing) who lost second place at the start with Nico Jamin (Andretti Autosport) who would soon attack Herta to take the lead the race.

But Herta reacted by beating his teammate again. But Jamin doing anything would return to the lead of the race, after a spun from Herta.

Meanwhile, Juan Piedrahita (Team Pelfrey) was trying to overtake Nicolas Dapero (Juncos Racing) for fifth, and as soon as the Colombian had almost won the position, he received a contact from behind by championship leader Kyle Kaiser (Juncos Racing) that caused a spin for both drivers.

Back on top, despite Urrutia was putting pressure on Jamin, the Uruguayan was unable to overcome him, with Jamin getting the victory ahead of the Belardi driver and Shelbly Blackstock (Belardi Auto Racing) on ??the podium. Zachary Claman de Melo (Carlin) finished on the doorstep of the podium in fourth place.

The fifth position would be more disputed with an Aaron Telitz (Belardi Auto Racing) that had to surpass Dapero for this position. Dapero would eventually finish eighth after been passed by Ryan Norman (Andretti Autosport) and Colton Herta. Carlin’s of Neil Alberico and Matheus Leist complete the top 10.
