During Friday’s session at the Isle of Man TT, three riders were involved in accidents during the races taking place on the famous Mountain Course. The riders, Jamie Cringle, Michael Evans, and Erno Kostamo, have been updated regarding their health conditions following the incidents.
Cringle had a fall at Union Mills during the second race of the Supersport TT, which was won by Michael Dunlop. He was urgently transferred to Noble Hospital and later moved to Aintree Hospital. Currently, his condition is considered stable, and he is conscious and talking, despite suffering injuries to his leg, chest, and back.
Meanwhile, Evans had an incident at Braddan Oak during the second race of the day, the Sportbike TT, which was also won by Dunlop. He was taken to Noble Hospital to assess and treat his injuries, and he is currently in a conscious and stable state, with no serious injuries.
Finally, Kostamo crashed at the 11th Milestone during the second lap of the Senior TT, which was interrupted with a red flag with Dean Harrison leading the race. He was treated at the scene before being transferred to Noble Hospital and later to Aintree Hospital for additional treatment. In his case, his condition is also conscious, stable, and he is being treated for injuries to his leg and hip.
It is worth remembering that this is not the first time tragic incidents have been recorded in this prestigious event, as recently, British rider Daniel Ingham lost his life in an accident during qualifying, becoming the 271st fatality in the 109-year history of the competition.
