In the recent Australian Grand Prix, Isack Hadjar, driver for Red Bull Racing, had a spectacular start, but his performance was affected by a problem with the battery of his vehicle. Despite starting from third position, the lack of power at the start cost him the opportunity to compete for victory.
Hadjar showed an excellent reaction time and attempted to take the lead of the race from George Russell, who was in pole position. However, his inability to deploy energy like many of his rivals allowed Charles Leclerc to pass him, and shortly after, he also lost his position among the top three with an overtaking by Lewis Hamilton.
“The start was impressive. If I had been able to deploy all the power, I would have taken the lead easily,” commented Hadjar. “It’s a shame that once I thought I could take command, I lost all power. I had to recover time and the engine sounded terrible, so I knew I wouldn’t make it to the end of the race,” he added.
His race ended prematurely when his car stopped around lap 11. Hadjar was overtaken by Kimi Antonelli and was forced to defend against the rookie Racing Bulls driver, Arvid Lindblad. “It’s difficult to compete with someone going 30 km/h faster,” lamented the Frenchman.
Despite the frustration experienced during the race, Hadjar showcased his potential with his third position in qualifying, showing he can be one of the promising drivers of the championship. “I felt good throughout the weekend, without mistakes. It’s a shame that I can’t keep competing,” he concluded.
