FOX Sports has announced the team responsible for broadcasting the Freedom 250 Grand Prix taking place on Sunday, August 23, in Washington, D.C. This race will mark the first time that IndyCar will compete along the streets of the capital of the United States, as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations of America.
The race commentary will be handled by the regular team consisting of Will Buxton, Townsend Bell, and James Hinchcliffe. Additionally, the broadcast will include reporters on the road, such as Jack Harvey, Georgia Henneberry, and Kevin Lee, with special reports by Jamie Little.
Pre-Race Show
Coverage on race day will start with an expanded pre-race show of 90 minutes, beginning at 11:30 AM ET on FOX and FOX One. The hosts will be Chris Myers, along with four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves, and the most prominent female driver in Indianapolis 500 history, Danica Patrick.
This pre-race show will dive into the details of the new urban circuit in the capital, paying tribute to each branch of the United States Armed Forces. FOX Sports reporter, Tom Rinaldi, will also be on site to conduct special segments and interviews.
