Callum Ilott and Joel Eriksson have taken the pole positions for Race 2 and 3 of FIA Formula 3 European championship at Hungaroring (Hungary).
Under dry conditions, the second qualifying session of the weekend was so important. Callum Ilott (Prema Powerteam) managed to set the quickest lap of the session to take the pole position for Race 2 and the second position for Race 3.
While Joel Eriksson (Motopark) who recently lost the lead with Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam) in the championship standings, took second position for Race 2 and pole position for Race 3, which is the best way to try to re-take the lead of the series.
But the BMW junior driver must be aware of McLaren junior, Lando Norris (Carlin) who will start third in both races. He will start ahead of Guanyu Zhou (Prema Powerteam) who after a strong session, he secured P4 for both races.
Completing top5 for Race 2 is Jake Hughes (Hitech GP) who took a podium today, while in Race 3, a rekindled David Beckmann (Motopark) will try to fight for his first points this season and maybe his first podium this 2017.
Point’s leader, Maxi Günther will start from sixth position in both races.
