Hyundai has revealed a commemorative livery for the Rally of Croatia within the World Rally Championship, dedicated to the late Craig Breen. This initiative arises with the aim of keeping his legend alive both on and off the competition stages.

Craig Breen lost his life in an accident during a pre-event test for the Rally of Croatia in 2023 while competing for the official Hyundai team. Since his passing, the team has included the inscription ‘ForCraig’ on its vehicles, but this week they will present a special design in honor of the beloved Irish driver.

The livery art features portraits of Breen on the sides and roof of the Hyundai i20 N Rally1, as well as a larger decal of the motto ‘ForCraig’ alongside the driver’s iconic phrase: ‘flat to the square right’. Additionally, the livery includes recognition of the Craig Breen Foundation, an organization established in 2023 to promote new talent in the Irish rally world.

Cyril Abiteboul, president of Hyundai Motorsport, emphasized that the team wants to remember Breen not only for his racing career but also for his positive impact as a person. “Craig was the essence of what rallying represents in every aspect of his life,” stated Abiteboul, underlining the importance of perpetuating his memory.

Hyundai travels to Croatia after breaking Toyota’s dominance, achieving second place at the Safari Rally in Kenya with Adrien Fourmaux. This year’s rally presents a new challenge with significant changes to the route, with only three of the stages retained from the previous edition held in 2024, now moving from Zagreb to the coastal city of Rijeka.
