Andretti Autosport announced on Sunday at Sonoma Raceway an extension to partnership with DHL Express as Ryan Hunter-Reay continues to drive the No. 28 DHL machine through 2020.
Hunter-Reay, 35, has been driving for Andretti Autosport since 2010. Since 2011 DHL has been the primary sponsor of his car. The current contract was through 2017 before the extension.
The relationship has seen Hunter-Reay winning the Verizon IndyCar Series championship in 2012 as well as winning the Indianapolis 500 in 2014.
This season has been Hunter-Reay’s poorest at Andretti Autosport as he sits in 13th place in the standings before the final race. He has scored three podium finishes, yet is still to win a race this season before the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma where he qualified in sixth place.
