Lewis Hamilton set the pace in dry conditions in FP3 of F1 Hungarian GP from the Red Bull pair of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

Much like FP2, it was dry in FP3 after a rain shower in the night. The grip was low with a high track temperature and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton surprised with the fastest lap of 1m17.811s after a difficult Friday from them in F1 Hungarian GP.

He managed to beat both the Red Bull drivers where Max Verstappen was ahead of Sergio Perez, where the Mexican managed to get a clean run again. There were off moments involving several drivers due to lack of grip as they slid across a lot of times.

Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg was fourth after his late quick lap with McLaren’s Lando Norris slotting in fifth from Mercedes’ George Russell where the former set his best lap on the medium tyres. The Ferrari F1 pair kept it late for their soft run.

Charles Leclerc was only seventh ahead of Carlos Sainz. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was ninth from Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas in the Top 10, as his teammate Zhou Guanyu was 12th behind Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll.

There was a late moment between Guanyu and AlphaTauri’s Daniel Ricciardo too. The lead Williams of Alexander Albon was 13th from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri  with Haas’ Kevin Magnussen in 15th from Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and Williams’ Logan Sargeant.

Ricciardo was 18th from Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and the other AlphaTauri of Yuki Tsunoda where all three set their pace on the medium tyres. In terms of the new PU elements, Alfa Romeo pair of Bottas and Guanyu took a new set of TC, MGU-H and MGU-K with the Haas of Hulkenberg also taking a new MGU-K.
