Hughes the fastest at Spa GP3 practice

The Briton of Dams, Jake Hughes led the free practice session in front of his compatriot, Matt Parry and his team mate, Kevin Jörg.

The GP3 Series grid have a new rookie in the field. It’s the Red Bull junior, Niko Kari who is now racing in FIA Formula 3 European championship and finished second in the Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort. The Finn will replace Ralph Boschung in Koiranen GP after financial issues. Oscar Tunjo is back with Jenzer as well.

In the early minutes of the session, Antonio Fuoco was leading ahead of Oscar Tunjo and Jake Dennis.

But the top changed and especially did so at the end of the session with Matt Parry taking the lead with a lap of 2:06.174, 3 tenths faster than Kevin Jörg. The team mate of the Swiss driver, with one minute remaining set the fastest time of the day, while Schothorst set the fourth place.

Behind them finished Oscar Tunjo, ahead of Nyck de Vries, Charles Leclerc, Artur Janosz, Antonio Fuoco and Niko Kari.
