Christian Horner reckons Max Verstappen hasn’t yet reached his peak in F1 and more is to come, as he notes the Dutchman to be the best Red Bull driver.

Despite the four F1 titles, Red Bull chief Horner reckons Verstappen hasn’t reached his peak yet. He feels there is more to come from the Dutchman, who showed skills in latter half of 2024 to retain the drivers’ championship when the team couldn’t win the constructors’.

Horner has no doubts on the capabilities of Verstappen to push and deliver far more. “I think there’s still more to come,” the boss said to media. “He’s only just 27 years of age. I think it’s still how hard he pushes himself. I’m sure there’s still more to come. I think he definitely has the capabilities to do it. It depends on other factors.

“As you know, this sport is about man and machine. So we have to make sure we give him the machineries that are capable of being competitive,” summed up Horner, who also labeled Verstappen as the best that Red Bull has seen among all the drivers they have had. He credits Helmut Marko for identifying and pursuing with the Dutchman at a young age.

“I think that he’s the best driver in the world by a margin, and I think that he’s comfortable in the team,” said Horner. “He has a great deal of trust in the people around him, and we know that we’ve got to give him a good car to keep him achieving the kind of results that his talent warrants. His talent was clear, Helmut identified that when he was in the Formula 3.

“And he joined us very quickly after that. I think that it’s been an absolute pleasure seeing him grow from a boy into a man. And the speed has never changed. His experience, his perspective, his maturity is what has evolved over the last few years,” summed up Horner.
