The Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner is confident on the reliability of the car, playing down the issues that they suffered today in the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.

Despite first engine sensor, and then battery issues, the leader of the Anglo-Austrian team took the news peacefully, in the first day of the 2017 Formula 1 pre-season tests:

“We’ve had a few issues this morning, We had a mechanical issue regarding an engine sensor, and having rectified that unfortunately there’s been a battery issue, which necessitated a change and caused quite a bit of downtime.”

Like 2014, Horner prefers to have this issues today rather than in the first race:

“I’d rather have the problems here than at the first race, the good news is they don’t appear to be major problems, and also encouraging is the fact that both other cars, [with] the same power unit, are running reasonably OK.

“One can only assume it’s been unlucky that Daniel has had two issues on his car today.”
