Brazil’s Mauro Auricchio and Switzerland’s Marylin Niederhauser fail to qualify after finishing at the back of the field.
Job van Uitert (17, Netherlands, Jenzer Motorsport) won the ADAC Formula 4 qualification race at the Lausitzring Motorsport Festival to claim 23rd position on the grid for the first two of three races (Saturday 11.55 and 17:40). The Dutch teenager won the qualification race on Friday evening, which serves to determine grid positions 23 to 35, ahead of Oliver Söderström (17, Sweden, Liqui Moly Team Engstler) and ADAC Formula 4 newcomer Mauricio Baiz (17, Venezuela, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg). Mauro Auricchio (17, Brazil, Team Timo Scheider GmbH) and Marylin Niederhauser (20, Switzerland, Rennsport Roessler) finished 14th and 15th respectively, which means that they miss out on this weekend’s actual racing.
Starting positions one through to 22 for the first two races were decided in Friday afternoon’s qualifying sessions, in which Mick Schumacher (17, Germany, Prema Powerteam) secured both pole positions.
