Heavy rains have caused flooding at the Ayrton Senna Autodrome in Goiânia, which will host the second race of the 2026 MotoGP season this weekend. Since Monday, the precipitation has been constant, and the volume of water has exceeded meteorologists’ expectations.

On Monday afternoon, a storm hit the region, rendering the circuit almost inaccessible due to the accumulated water. Access to the paddock was affected, and the grassy areas around the track were covered in water.

At first, the track and pit area seemed less affected, with only a few damp areas. However, the situation quickly worsened, and by 5:00 PM, the access tunnel was completely flooded with over 25 cm of standing water.

The Civil Defense authorities of Goiânia have issued an emergency warning alerting about the possibility of flash floods in the city, recommending that the population avoid the most affected areas. Climate crisis control teams are already working to monitor the situation and minimize risks.

Despite the adverse conditions, the circuit officials have begun cleanup and drainage efforts. With temperatures exceeding 30 degrees, the goal is to have the circuit in optimal conditions for the first Moto3 practice sessions starting this Friday at 9:00 AM.

With concerns about the imminent start of the Grand Prix, organizers hope that weather conditions will improve and that the Brazil MotoGP GP can be held as planned.
