Haryanto wins Race 2 in Silverstone

Rio Haryanto (Campos Racing) today won the second race of the GP2 at Silverstone after leading every lap. Marciello (Trident) was second and Gasly (Dams) third. Vandoorne has finished ninth, first not scored this season.

Haryanto kept the first position at the start while Yelloly who started second, lost several positions. At the end of the first lap, Canamasas spun after touching with Nato.

Rossi needed to get get points Vandoorne, who after a poor start, was running ninth. The Racing Engineering driver overtook Lynn out at Copse but not respect the limits of the track so we opened an investigation. Finally, the American pilot received a penalty of five seconds that would join him after the race.

Vandoorne needed to regain positions on lap 6 and beat De Jong to get into the points. Jordan King, having left far behind, was running very fast and delighted us with two great overtaking Leal and Ceccotto in Turn 6.

Yelloly was glued to Lynn, but the Dams driver would not leave easily forward and fought many attempts overtaking pilot Hilmer. But then he came to them Sirotkin who quickly overtook Yelloly and lunged for Lynn.

We entered the last 4 laps of the race and Haryanto had a comfortable lead of 2.5 seconds over second rolling Marciello. Rear, Vandoorne Rowland ahead and left him outside the points positions.

But he could not reach Sirotkin Lynn and returned Yelloly overtaking inside at Copse. The Russian pilot continued to lose positions, this time for Rowland. Finally, Lynn Yelloly lead on the last lap.

Haryanto took the victory after leading every lap of the race. Marciello Gasly was second and third. Rossi was fourth despite the penalty he had. The top 10 is completed by Yelloly, Lynn, Rowland, Sirotkin, Vandoorne not scored for the first time this season and Jordan King.
