Lewis Hamilton will not even have his phone with him in the winter weeks as he wishes to stay away from F1 and anyone related to the sport.

After a heavy switch in the winter of 2024/25 from Mercedes to Ferrari which involved lots of media work and knowing, Hamilton is a one tired person after a grueling season. It was harder than expected after finishing only sixth in the F1 drivers’ standings behind the big runners.

So much that he couldn’t step on the podium for even once in the 24 races for the first time in his F1 career. He had a sprint win in China, but it doesn’t count towards the main statistics. He had several highs and lows throughout the season, but the lows were heavy to take.

It has taken a toll along with the media duties that he has had to do, which he wants to trim in the time to come. For now, he will go into a shell where he will not even have his phone with him. In previous cases of seclusion, he has kept the phone with him, but this time he wants to shun any noise.

“At the moment I’m only looking forward to just the break, just to disconnect, not speaking to anyone,” said Hamilton to media. “No one should be able to get a hold of me this winter. I won’t have my phone with me and I’m looking forward to that, just complete unplug from everyone.

“Not particularly. I wouldn’t say that [ I haven’t had my phone], no, I’ve generally always had it around, but this time, it’s going in the fricking bin (laughs),” summed up Hamilton, who pointed towards the photo shoots as one thing. At Ferrari, they have had more number of shoots certainly.

But it hasn’t deterred his passion or motivation by any bit. He still has a dream to find more success with Ferrari and certainly race wins will be part of it apart from the obvious championship. “I’ll find out when I do it, but yeah, I can’t wait to get away from all this, every week, photo shoots and all that kind of stuff, that’s the thing I look forward to one day not having to do all,” he said.

“It’s a love for what you do. It’s a love for racing.  I have got amazing support from people around me, my fans. It’s that constant, keeping an eye on the dream. I still have a dream that I hold hope in my heart for and that’s what I work towards yeah,” summed up Hamilton.
