Lewis Hamilton has set the fastest time in the second free practice of the German Grand Prix, just 0,024s ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg.
The session has begun with problems for Marcus Ericsson’s Caterham, which stopped in the middle of the track. Things wouldn’t improve for the team, as Kobayashi also had to retire later on due to a fire on his car that he had trouble extinguishing. On the other hand, Sauber look like they’ve made a step forward.
It may seem that the Mercedes are not as far ahead of the rest in Hockenheim. Daniel Ricciardo’s lap was less than 0,2s slower than Hamilton’s. Kimi Raikkonen was 4th with the Ferrari, while Alonso couldn’t do better than 9th this time.
