Hamilton leads FP1 in Canada

The Mercedes AMG driver, Lewis Hamilton, dominated Friday morning’s opening practice of the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix. His teammate, Nico Rosberg finished second and Romain Grosjean third.

In that first season of free practice, Ferrari and McLaren confirmed that they have used tokens for the development of their engines, Woking’s team said that they will put the updates on the car tomorrow.

Marshalls and mechanics had more job as they usually have because of some little iron pieces that were on the pit lane after a publicity event. Luckily, the Marshalls retired all the pieces.

After a spin, Lewis Hamilton was the faster driver followed by his teammate, Nico Rosberg and a surprising Romain Grosjean. But remember that this is the FP1 and all teams use this season to test new aero kits and setups.

German Force India driver, Nico Hulkenberg finished the season in fourth position, after them, finished Sebastian Vettel.

Fernando Alonso was ninth, and the other two Spanish drivers, Sainz and Merhi, finished the season in 17th and 19th position. Toro Rosso’s driver, Carlos Sainz Jr, had some problems with his car that makes him stop at the end of the pit lane. His mechanics had to go to get the car back to the garage. Roberto Merhi (Manor) finished the season in front of his teammate, Will Stevens.

FP2 will be at 20:00 CEST.
