Lewis Hamilton is certainly interested in how Ferrari is doing in current F1 season, as he readies for the mental switch to his new outfit.
Having checked out of the 2024 F1 season with Mercedes where he isn’t as much bothered where he finishes but just score as many points for the team as possible, Hamilton has one eye on the progress made by Ferrari so far in the season while in the constructors’ fight.
Ferrari started well but faced a dip in between which set them back. In the second half, they have picked up well to now be second in the standings ahead of Red Bull and behind leaders McLaren. Hamilton certainly has interest to see how his future F1 team is doing.
The step this year will help in 2025, considering lack of overall regulation changes next season. Hamilton will hope to share his feedback as well for Ferrari to take another step. “I’m very interested in my future, of course,” he said. “And so, in that respect, keeping an eye, yeah, watching everything that happens.
“It’s been, through the year, the beginning of the year, if you look at somewhere like maybe China already, but the Red Bull was like a second ahead. And it’s been quite incredible to see the McLaren rise and then the Ferrari in the last few races, to see their progress and just trying to keep an eye on everyone’s car and what they’re changing and what they’re adding.
“We all watch the video, all the drivers, we all watch the onboard laps and we’re always trying to see where we can gain time. And there’s some cars that just react differently and better or worse in certain areas. And you’re trying to figure out how you can find that within either your balance or get the team to develop the car in that direction,” summed up Hamilton.
Elsewhere, as a mark to show his love towards his fans and Mercedes, Hamilton has opened up a chance for his fans to feature on his car during the Abu Dhabi GP weekend. A total of 150 names will be pasted on the Brit’s car. Here’s how to enter: https://www.mercedesamgf1.com/news/win-chance-to-have-your-name-on-lewis-car-for-abu-dhabi
