Lewis Hamilton was the fastest driver in the third day of pre season testing in Bahrain. Proving that the McLaren and the Mercedes as the strongest cars with Ferrari having a lot of problems.
In the morning, Max Chilton has caused the first red flag of the day, due to an anomaly in his Ferrari engine, but this has not affected to valtteri bottas who made many laps and some pit stop practice without quick laps. Today was the official debut of Pastor Maldonado as a Lotus driver. Pastor caused the second red flag when he broke his gearbox. At Force India, Perez lost two hours by ERS problems before starting the aerodynamic tests provided at the indian team. Ferrari had problems with telemetry after change it last night. However, all teams have run a lot during the morning session, with Lewis Hamilton dominate clearly the time table. This stints of laps have cause a “peace” on the circuit, with Magnussen and Sorensen (Lotus Test driver) talking in the paddock.
In the afternoon, Hamilton was focused on a race simulation, and the third red flag appeared later, but when it did, it was a Lotus, right after have solved the morning problems. Red Bull had problems but they were diferent than the past problems.
Day marked by competitiveness of McLaren, Mercedes and Williams. The negative face was the Ferrari problems, the italian team completed only a few laps like Marussia and Lotus.
