Haas completed its F1 2026 shakedown at Fiorano with only one driver, as Williams drivers reflect on missing the Barcelona test.
With barely two days to go for the Barcelona shakedown, Haas joined the list of F1 teams to run its 2026 car albeit for filming run. In a change, the American outfit undertook its run at Fiorano, utilising its partnership with the Italian manufacturer, who ran at the same venue on Friday.
Oliver Bearman drove the VF-26, using his links as Ferrari academy driver. Esteban Ocon was also present for the shakedown, overlooking the Brit undertaking the run. Haas joined the likes of Audi, Cadillac, Visa Cash App RB, Alpine, Mercedes and Ferrari in the shakedown list.
That left Williams, Aston Martin, Red Bull and McLaren, without a run. From among them, Williams has decided to not run in the Barcelona shakedown. Its drivers Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz reacted to the news of the British team missing the shakedown.
“We are committed to keep pushing flat out! Can’t wait to hit the track soon,” wrote Sainz. While Albon added: “It’s not how we wanted to start the year, but these things can happen when you are pushing the limits! Full focus ahead!”
