Green wins race 1 at Lausitzring

Jamie Green achieved to his second win of the season today at Lausitzring. Mortara was second and third Ekström. Quiet race with a single drop.


 

The grid was preparing to exit and Wittmann and Farfus positions were delayed after five positions penalty in the qualifying session.

Green lights and Molina streamed out like a lightning and preserves his first position in a clean start where the four Audi kept their position, while behind were many fights and many drivers took advantage of the loophole to not break the car.

Farfus retired on lap two and Auer made a spun and he was running in the last position. Martin was escaping ahead with the four Audi and Green took advantage of the DRS to approach the Spanish.

The race was stabilized and Juncadella advanced two positions and he was pressuring Wittmann, Wehrlein was also pressuring Wickens, and he managed to overtake him, the German was the fastest on the track and he was now looking at the group of five.

At lap 14 Muller tried to overtake Da Costa but he touched with the Portuguese and made a spin. Blomqvist, that was pressuring Juncadella, went off track losing many positions. The Spanish tried to overtake Wittmann but he spent braking. A few laps later Juncadella overtook the German and a lap later Rockenfeller did the same.

In the absence of 8 minutes, Green gave a hit on the table and advanced Molina, a lap later Mortara did the same and two later Ekström did the same, Molina went to the first to fourth. Behind him, Wehrlein advanced Martin.

Things would remain except that Wickens overtook Martin.

Second win for Jamie Green, Mortara second, third  Ekström and fourth Molina. As for the rookies Götz has been the best in position number fifteen.
