The Grasser Racing Team has confirmed that it will compete with two Lamborghini Temerario GT3 during the next DTM event at Nürburgring. This decision comes after the team was unable to have Maximilian Paul’s car ready, which suffered an accident in Oschersleben.
Gottfried Grasser, the team director, indicated that they have acquired a new chassis to resolve the situation: “We will compete with two vehicles at Nürburgring. Mainly, because the other car is not repairable according to Lamborghini.”
Thus, the total number of vehicles in the DTM will increase to 21. However, it still remains to be determined who will occupy the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 with number 19, which will be the team of the winner of Oschersleben, Mirko Bortolotti.
The Lamborghini driver: possible candidates
Grasser stated that the driver will undoubtedly be a factory driver from Lamborghini, although it has not yet been specified who it will be. However, it is known that this decision will come directly from Lamborghini, and the number of candidates is limited due to the small roster of drivers from the renowned Italian brand.
One of the candidates with the most possibilities is the French Franck Perera, who has experience in DTM and has already competed with the Grasser team in other categories, including the GT World Challenge Europe.
