Giovinazzi wins again in Spielberg

Giovanazzi Antonio was the third race of the weekend’s hero, by winning with authority to his teammate, Tom Blomqvist. The podium was closed by Lucas Auer with a good performance. The two favorites to win the championship, Ocon and Verstappen, were left out of the points. 
At the 4.326 kilometers long Red Bull Ring, the Italian 20 year old driver, Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) today celebrated his new victory in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship by winning the third race of the weekend. His teammate Tom Blomqvist (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) took the checkered flag in second place, while Lucas Auer (Mücke Motorsport kfzteile24) closed the podium. Esteban Ocon (Prema Powerteam) remains in the lead in the drivers’ standings. The French driver of Lotus F1 Junior finished 13th in the race after a drive-through penalty for driving too fast under yellow flags and therefore failed to score any points.
At first, Antonio Giovinazzi benefited from his pole position and took the lead. Tom Blomqvist followed him in second place. Shortly after, Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport kfzteile24) spun and stayed in the gravel forcing a retirement. On the third lap, a collision involving Alexander Toril (Three Bond with T-Sport) and Jules Szymkowiak (Van Amersfoort Racing) brought the safety car on track. The accident meant the end of the race for the Spanish driver.
After the break, Antonio Giovinazzi remained ahead. In the final laps to the end, the Italian pulled clear advantage to Tom Blomqvist and finally took home an undisputed victory. Tom Blomqvist and Lucas Auer also had a race without incidents, while numerous fights position in the middle of the table entertained the spectators. Max Verstappen (Van Amersfoort Racing) fought Antonio Fuoco (Prema Powerteam) for fourth place. The two fought till the end, and Fuoco paid the highest price: a damaged front wing on his car. The Italian, a protected of the Ferrari Driver Academy had to resort to the pits while Verstappen received a drive-through penalty for his imprudence. The Dutch finally qualified twelfth, Fuoco concluded the race in 19th place.
Nicholas Latifi (Prema Powerteam) inherited third place from Jake Dennis (Carlin), Edward Jones (Carlin), Jordan King (Carlin), Gustavo Menezes (Van Amersfoort Racing), Tatiana Calderon (Jo Zeller Racing) and Sean Gelael (Ayam Jagonya with Carlin).
