Luca Ghiotto has achieved the pole position for the first round of the GP3 Series championship held at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya. The Italian has dominated the session; Top3 to accompany the French Esteban Ocon and Emil Bernstorff.
The first ranking of the season began with a Ghiotto (Trident) as the fastest around the circuit, but stopped at the Italian box and not quite round, the same did the other riders Trident, Jenz, Carlin and Koiranen. A Status Grand Prix however, came later.
Esteban Ocon (ART Grand Prix) as well as in the free yesterday began leading the session. A few minutes later it was Alex Palou (Campos Racing) who took out this site, Pal Varhaug (Jenz Motorsport) was placed third. Surprising be marking time Mitchell Gilbert (Carlin) who is not stressed in any sector but was faster by 2 tenths Palou.
Until Luca Ghiotto recorded the best time in every sector, ranking the first place in six tenths of Gilbert.
Halfway in, followed by Ghiotto led Eriksson (Koiranen GP) Gilbert, Boschung (Jenz Motorsport) and Mardenborough (Carlin).
On returning to court, the three ART Grand Prix were approved at the time of Ghiotto ranking second, third and fourth.
