Pierre Gasly held a Twitch stream where he revealed about discussions with the FIA and having nightmares regarding F1 Japanese GP crane moment.

It wasn’t the easiest of F1 Japanese GP weekend for AlphaTauri’s Gasly. He was forced to start from the pitlane which was a boon given the conditions at Suzuka, but it turned out to be a problem for him after Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz’s crash.

The Spaniard’s crash threw the advertisement board on the track which Gasly picked up unknowingly. He was forced to pit for a front wing change which set him back in the order, having to catch up to the field ahead behind the safety car.

In that process, he went beyond the speed limit especially when the grand prix was red-flagged. At that moment, few others and Gasly passed the incident site where a crane was trying to take off the car which upset the Frenchman and everyone else.

Gasly was livid on the radio and out of the car recalling the 2014 incident with Jules Binachi which cost his life at the same venue. The post-race chatter eventually forced the FIA into a thorough review of the incident as the Frenchman revealed if discussions too.

He added that he had nightmares of the incident and that the FIA certainly needs to review. Among other topics, Gasly talked about his Alpine announcement over the weekend where he had to keep silent about the potential move for weeks.

Gasly then revealed that his last day at AlphaTauri is on December 11 but he will only officially join Alpine from January in the New Year. Having been in the midfield, he hopes to win more F1 races with his new team and add to his lone victory at Monza.

In a funny moment post the announcement, Gasly stated that Yuki Tsunoda sang ‘See You Again’ (from Fast & Furious) for the Frenchman. Looking ahead, the Frenchman added that he will have a special helmet for US GP which he thinks will be his best.
