The FIA Formula E Championship will feature a new podium champagne from 2018/19 onward with Moet and Chandon join the all-electric series.
The championship had Mumm as its supplier for the first four seasons but will move on to Moet and Chandon from Season 5 onward which kicks-off with the first race on December 15 in Saudi Arabia.
“With the prospect of serving up another intense and unpredictable year of racing in season five – we’ll be celebrating the most memorable moments in style together with Moet & Chandon,” said Formula E Founder and CEO Alejandro Agag.
“This partnership is yet another demonstration of the continued growth of Formula E and the ever-expanding portfolio of well-known brands such as Moet & Chandon.” The France-based company returns to motorsport as a series supplier after a brief spell with Formula 1.
After Mumm moved away from F1, Moet and Chandon joined the championship in 2016 but was soon replaced by Carbon, which has a long-term deal. Chandon still remains a part of F1 through the sponsorship deal with British F1 team, McLaren.
“Moet & Chandon looks forward to partnering with Formula E, an innovative brand that supports the future of sustainable mobility,” said Stephane Baschiera, President & CEO of Maison Moet & Chandon.
“As a Maison that has made technology an essential component of our strategy – from the broad scope of our R&D to the precision of our sustainable viticulture practices – it is a pleasure to work with Formula E, who operates at the forefront of technology and rethinks the future.”
