Formula E hosted its post-season award ceremony to reward not just the drivers and champions but also had for teams and its members.
With another amazing season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship coming to a close, the series celebrated the talent and achievements of those both on and off the track. Here are your winners, who were announced and presented with their trophies at the end of season gala dinner in London.
BEST FAN EXPERIENCE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Winner: Hankook for their Global Allianz Fan Village Activation
ABB DRIVER OF PROGRESS AWARD
Winner: Lucas Di Grassi with 69 positions gained across Season 9
Newly-introduced for Season 9, the ABB Driver of Progress tracks the number of overtakes a driver has made over the year. The inaugural recipient of this award was Mahindra Racing’s Lucas di Grassi, who climbed an impressive 69 places during the 16 rounds of the calendar.
SOCIAL CONTENT OF THE YEAR
Winner: Jaguar TCS Racing for their ‘The All-Electric Journey to the Berlin E-Prix
The Jaguar TCS Racing team and Formula E presenter Saunders Carmichael-Brown documented their journey from London to the Berlin E-Prix, crossing five countries to reach the Tempelhof Airport. Using the Jaguar IPACE to complete their all-electric journey, their efforts were recognised with the ‘social content of the year’ by Formula E.
TAG HEUER FASTEST DRIVER AWARD
Winner: Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti Formula E Team)
The TAG Heuer fastest driver award celebrates the racer with the most fastest laps this season, and that was Drivers’ World Champion Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti).
ENGINEER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Winner: Cyril Blais (Maserati MSG Racing) and collected by Maximilian Guenther on behalf of Cyril.
There’s no doubt that the drivers on track give it everything but Formula E is all about teams, and no one can win without the support of those supporting them. Engineers and strategists are key to the success of a team and our next award, celebrates the engineer of the year.
CLIMATE CHAMPION AWARD SEASON 9
Winner: Jaguar TCS Racing
Since its inception, Formula E was created to help promote a better future for all. Recognising the work all areas of the Formula E ecosystem do to help advance this, the Climate Champion Award recognises the extra special contribution of a particular entity in the series.
BEST QUALIFIER AWARD FOR THE MOST JULIUS BAER POLE POSITIONS
Winner: Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing)
Mitch Evans of Jaguar TCS Racing was the victor of this award, sailing through to the Group stages and battling their way through the Duels to the top of the grid. He achieved three Julius Baer Pole Positions over the season, in Hyderabad, Rome and London.
2023 ABB FIA FORMULA E TEAMS’ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS
Winner: Envision Racing
First-time winners of the Teams’ Championship, Envision Racing finished Season 9 with 304 points to their name. Thanks to a strong season from Nick Cassidy and teammate Sebastien Buemi, the team managed to pip their powertrain suppliers Jaguar by 12 points to seal the award.
2023 ABB FIA FORMULA E DRIVERS’ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER
Winner: Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti Formula E Team)
Over the season, Jake Dennis managed to consistently find himself on the podium and totalling up the all-important championship points to make him a contender. He managed to wrap up the Drivers’ World Championship with one race to go in London, in front of his home fans and smashed the record for most podiums in a season when he clinched his 11th of the year in the final race of the year.
