Alex Lynn first win in GP2 in a race that the English has controlled perfectly and kept out of reach of Vandoorne who was second after starting eighth. Gasly was third.

Before the start we had the first retirement, Evans was stopped because of an engine problem on lap to arrival to the grid.

The start was aborted because Pic confused his grid position and placed in the Evans‘ one and he tried go back to his position, hurting Matsushita that he stopped the car.

The light turned off and Vandoorne came out very well and was placed fourth while Nato was first.

The Safety Car virtual was deployed because Binder touched Negrao and his car was stopped in Turn 4. The safety car was removed and Marciello lost the control of his car in a strange movement, and Vandoorne was third.

Pic received a penalty of five seconds because of the incident on the formation lap.

And ahead, Lynn overtook Nato taking advantage of the DRS and placed first and Vandoorne stuck into French and the first corner he overtook him. Nato was still losing positions, this time in favor of Gasly.

On lap 22 Cecotto entered to pit the pit lane and he withdrew, while things were very stable because many pilots were preserving tires.

Vandoorne tried to reduce the gap with Lynn but lacking 5 laps his tires began to lose some performance. But he was actually waiting to attack at the end and in a few turns began to reduce the gap between them but the Belgian could not take the first position.

Victory for Lynn in a very well controlled race by the British driver and first win of the driver of Dams into this category. Second Vandoorne who finally ran out of tires and third Gasly.
