First free practice of the Australian GP 2013 – F1

Sebastian Vettel was the fastest in the first practice session disputed in Australia. The German driver, as Fernando Alonso has done, had to roll out in the last 30 minutes of session, being the quickest of the session in his third time. Vettel, as usual, has continued the tradition of “premiere helmets”, and this time he has done it with a “copy” of the helmet of the Red Bull Stratos mission.

Felipe Massa finished second just 78 thousandths away from the world champion. The Brazilian from Ferrari, just like his teammate who was third, has been placed in the first position, before the Sebastian Vettel was installed at the top.
Raikkonen also has gotten into the preferred position for a while, but eventually finished sixth.
The session was marked mainly by the teams, by making long runs. With only 3 minutes left, Paul Di Resta has made a way out of the gravel, but luckily without consequences.
As for the beginners, the best has been Valtteri Bottas of Williams, who finished fifteenth.
Also highlight the good performance of Jules Bianchi with Marussia, which was nine tenths faster than his teammate Max Chilton.
