The FIA has noted down the track limits for F1 British GP along with changes to circuit, DRS zones and more, as filming returns.

Much like how it is, the white remains the track limits detection as the FIA Race Directors’ note states, but in addition to that, they have specifically mentioned Turn 18 as a monitoring corner, where laps will be deleted if not adhered to the rules.

“In accordance with the provisions of Article 33.3, the white lines define the track edges. During Qualifying and the Race, each time a driver fails to negotiate with the track limits, this will result in that lap time being invalidated by the Stewards,” said the FIA note.

“Additionally, during Qualifying and the Race, each time a driver fails to negotiate with the exit of turn 18, will result in that lap time and the immediately following lap time being invalidated by the Stewards.”

The list of circuit changes for F1 British GP at Silverstone is rather huge. It includes addition of gravel beds to certain corners with asphalt removed/reduced to accommodate that. There are certain safety changes made as well, the list states:

In terms of the two DRS zones, the first detection point is 25m before Turn 3 with activation being 30m after Turn 5. The second zone is very simple, with the detection point being at Turn 11, and subsequently the activation being at Turn 14.

As for the four FIA stewards, the panel will be led by Garry Connelly and he will have the support of Matthew Selley, Enrique Bernoldi and Ian Watson. In addition to this, the Race Director also noted about the filming activities to take place at Silverstone.

Much like how it was last year at the same venue and few others, the APX GP crew will be part of the weekend. They have their own motorhome installed in the paddock too. It is unclear how the filming will take place and how they will use the official sessions.

“As previously notified to all competitors, there will be filming activities during this Event,” it stated. “With respect to these activities the personnel and equipment needed for the filming have been authorized by the FIA and its delegates, as required under the various provisions of the Sporting Regulations.”
