The FIA has released the provisional F1 2025 entry list as Sergio Perez remains at Red Bull, while the seat at Visa Cash App RB is yet to be filled.
Apart from the seat changes from 2024 to 2025, there aren’t huge changes made to next year’s entry list as published by the FIA on Friday. For now, Perez remains at Red Bull Racing with no confirmation yet from the team about his future course despite Monday’s meeting. Likewise, there is an empty slot at Visa Cash App RB.
Liam Lawson was only announced to compete for the rest of the 2024 F1 season and so, he hasn’t feature on the 2025 entry list since the team is yet to officially name its driver. The team name, meanwhile, has seen a slight change as well with the addition of Racing Bulls.
It is now stated as ‘Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One Team’, where the team wanted to RB to stand out as Racing Bulls and not be mistaken as Red Bull. Apart from these two, the changes to the driver list has been reflected as well as previously known.
Ferrari has Lewis Hamilton, as Williams features Carlos Sainz, Kick Sauber has Nico Hulkenberg and Haas featuring Esteban Ocon. Among the new entrants, Mercedes has Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Alpine has Jack Doohan, Haas has Oliver Bearman and Kick Sauber features Gabriel Bortoleto from F2.
Their race numbers are confirmed as well with Antonelli taking #12, which was last used by Felipe Nasr between 2015 and 2016. Bearman will use #87 which will be fresh on the grid, while Doohan and Bortoleto have taken over the #7 and #5 numbers respectively, which belonged to two F1 world champions.
The #7 was used by Kimi Raikkonen between 2014 and 2021, while the #5 was used by Sebastian Vettel between 2015 and 2022. As per the ruling, a driver number can be re-used by a different driver after completing a cycle of two consecutive seasons of non-usage.
