The FIA released the calendar for the 2019 Formula 2 (F2) and Formula 3 (F3) Championships after approval from the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) in Russia.
The F2 season will spread across the same 12 venues where it raced in the 2018 season with the year starting in Bahrain during the March 28-31 weekend. Along with Bahrain, there will be in all four flyaway races with eight European ones.
Bahrain will be joined by Azerbaijan, Russia and Abu Dhabi as flyaway with Spain, Monaco, Britain, Hungary, Italy, Belgium, France and Austria forming the European calendar as the support event of Formula 1.
2019 F2 calendar:
Bahrain, Sakhir: March 28-31
Azerbaijan, Baku: April 26-28
Spain, Barcelona: May 10-12
Monaco: May 23-25
France, Le Castellet: June 21-23
Austria, Spielberg: June 28-30
Great Britain, Silverstone: July 12-14
Hungary, Budapest: August 2-4
Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps: August 30 – September 1
Italy, Monza: September 6-8
Russia, Sochi: September 27-29
Abu Dhabi, Yas Marina: November 29 – December 1
The FIA also revealed the new F3 calendar which replaces the GP3 Series in support to F1 and F2. The calendar features eight rounds which is one less from this year as Abu Dhabi will not host the round in 2019.
The rest of the venues remain the same as 2018 with Russia as the only flyaway round and also the season finale for the championship. The European leg will start in Spain and conclude with the last race in Italy.
