The FIA has released the start times of F1 2025 with only one significant change where Las Vegas GP is to start two hours earlier than previous two events.
The countdown to 2025 F1 start is underway and the FIA has released the start times of the sessions during the race weekends. Unlike the previous few seasons, the year will start in Australia, with the Middle Eastern races deferred to April due to Ramdan festivities.
There is no significant change to the timings as such for major part of the F1 calendar until the Las Vegas weekend, where FP1 on Thursday will start at 16:30 local time – in twilight conditions – instead of 18:30 last year which then means the FP2 will take place at 20:00 local time.
The FP3 on Friday will take place at 16:30 followed by qualifying at 20:00 and likewise the Saturday’s race will be at 20:00 local time as well instead of 22:00. The change in time is for better viewing time for fans, especially in America, as a late start doesn’t help in securing the desired numbers.
The other smaller change is for Azerbaijan GP, where Friday’s FP1 and FP2 will start at 12:30 and 16:00 local time, respectively. Last year, the two sessions took place one hour later at 13:30 and 17:00 local time. The rest of the weekend, though, remains at the same time as 2024.
The changed time of Qatar from last year also remains, as Austria returns to normal schedule after hosting sprint in 2024. The schedule of Belgium GP sees a change due to it hosting the sprint event this year, along with China, Miami, Austin, Brazil and Qatar, which also hosted the sprint events in 2024.
