Lining-up at the same venue that handed them a stellar double maiden win in the GP2 Series, Prema has great memories from the Azerbaijani Baku venue which is set to host the fourth round of what is now known as the FIA Formula 2 Championship. At its second season in the top-tier feeder series, the Italian squad is no longer a surprise as they are currently leading the drivers’ championship.
Turning out to be a major star of the year is Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque had an amazing start of the season both in qualifying and races and is eager to fight back after a tough home round between the streets of his native Monte Carlo. His 2017 roll of honour includes three poles and two wins.
Also aiming for a rebound, the other Ferrari Driver Academy rookie Antonio Fuoco is looking forward to another street course, albeit quite different from Monte Carlo, to put his recent experiences to fruition.
René Rosin – Team Principal
“Baku brings back outstanding memories for us. Lining-up for our first season in the GP2 Series, we brought home some incredible results there in 2016 and we are obviously looking forward to do it all again because this is how we work. We can rely on two amazingly talented drivers coming from the Ferrari Driver Academy and we are ready to continue our campaign with the utmost commitment and determination.”
