The FIA has disqualified both the Haas cars from F1 Monaco GP qualifying, but they can start the race from the pitlane.
Following the F1 Monaco GP qualifying, the post-session technical checks found a problem with the DRS of both the Haas cars of Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen. It related to non-compliance of Article 3.10.10 h of FIA Technical Regulations.
The technical delegate found that the uppermost rear wing element adjustable positions exceeded the maximum of the said 85mm. In the summon, Haas admitted to error on their part to have not properly set the wing flap gap for Monaco GP.
Considering that they brought a new rear wing for the Monaco GP weekend, they didn’t train the mechanics to adjust the rear wing flap as per the Technical Regulations, which was an error and miscalculation on their part.
As a result of which, the FIA disqualified both Hulkenberg and Magnussen from qualifying where they finished 12th and 15th respectively. And now, both will have to start from the pitlane, aiding their rivals to a better start position for the grand prix.
