Ferrari signs Serra and d’Ambrosio from Mercedes F1 team

Ferrari has announced the signing of Loic Serra and Jerome d’Ambrosio in different roles as they come in from Mercedes F1 team.

In a new hiring, Ferrari has announced Serra and d’Ambrosio to be joining the Italian outfit from October 1 of this year – both of whom coming into the F1 outfit from Mercedes. There were stories around the Belgian coming in, which has been confirmed now

Serra – who has also worked with Michelin and BMW-Sauber – has been named the Head of Chassis Performance Engineering, where he will at Track Engineering, Aero Development, Aero Operations and Vehicle Performance, while reporting to Enrico Cardile.

D’Ambrosio, meanwhile, has been named as the Deputy Team Principal, reporting directly to Frederic Vasseur. The Belgian – who was racing until the 2020 season – has also been appointed as the Head of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

The two signing further solidifies Ferrari in their quest to win the F1 world champion under the leadership of Vasseur. The team has already signed Lewis Hamilton for 2025 in a historic move, with the Brit pairing up alongside Charles Leclerc.
