Scuderia Ferrari has scheduled track time for Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz and Robert Shwartzman at Fiorano to shake off the cobwebs.
As was seen last year at Fiorano, Ferrari has scheduled track time for their regular F1 drivers Leclerc and Sainz this week alongside test driver Shwartzman. They will be in action this week at the team’s own circuit from Tuesday until Friday.
Starting the run will be Shwartzman on Tuesday as the Russian starts his test driver journey and carries on from his Abu Dhabi running. He shared the car with Antonio Fuoco there and also had a chance to drive the Haas F1 machine.
Shwartzman will give way to Leclerc on Wednesday with Sainz taking over on Thursday and the Russian returning on Friday to end the four-day running in the 2021 machine, the SF21. Interestingly, Mick Schumacher won’t be testing for them unlike last year.
Ferrari has specifically noted down any speculation of 2022 car’s shakedown. Whenever the Italian F1 outfit has a Fiorano run like this before the start of the season, there is speculation about shaking down the brand new machine.
They will have a filming day but it likely to be closer to the Barcelona test after the launch on February 17. The team has affirmed the code number of the project being ‘674’ as noted by multiple outlets towards the end of the 2021 season.
