Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow launched its 2019 F1 car, the SF90, at Maranello with a revised red livery.

Having looked at the cars of Mercedes and Red Bull Racing, the third part of the puzzle was completed with the online launch of Ferrari on Friday from their base at Maranello in the presence of the revamped team management and a new driver line-up.

The 2019 Ferrari car was revealed by Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, as the Italian manufacturer named its car as ‘SF90’ to celebrate the 90 years of Ferrari brand. The big change in the livery is of course, the team adopting the matte finish like Red Bull Racing.

The red gets a bit darker like seen on Ducati’s MotoGP bike which also features the Mission Winnow logo in grey and more presence of black. The presentation took place a day after the 2019 power unit was run for the first time on track via Alfa Romeo Racing at Fiorano.

Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri said: “The car embodies the latest state of the art technology, reflects the new regulations for the coming season and is the fruit of the combined enormous work and talent of everyone in the Scuderia.”

John Elkann added: “Essere Ferrari means being part of a story that is without equal. A story that began 90 years ago with the tenacity of our founder Enzo Ferrari, with his passion for racing… and winning! A story that, every day, continues to live through.”

Having given stiff challenge to Mercedes in 2018, the team eventually lost out in the middle stages of the year when an upgrade did not deliver the results it had hoped for. In addition, the mistakes from Vettel only made life tougher for the team and the driver.

For 2019, the German not only faces Lewis Hamilton at the other side but he will have Leclerc beside him, who has been regarded as one of the best young racers to come up. Indeed, his fast-track promotion to Ferrari certainly puts him at a high position.
