Ferrari, Mercedes held their own testing runs this week at separate F1 circuits, where the former also ran their regular drivers.

Ferrari had as many as five drivers at Mugello during a filming run alongside a potential Testing Previous Cars programme. Both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were present for the filming run, which was reportedly to analyse the new rear suspension assembly.

Since the start of the 2025 F1 season, the balance between front and rear suspension is lost and the drivers have struggled to extract the maximum. To address the issue, Ferrari introduced modifications to floor, but it hasn’t been enough as such.

Ahead of the Belgian GP next weekend, Ferrari used its filming run to trail the modified rear suspension assembly away from the media eyes. It is not clear who ran when and how many laps, but as per their social media handle, there were five in action.

Their test and reserves Zhou Guanyu, Antonio Giovinazzi and Antonio Fuoco, too had their go in old Ferrari machines, which is likely part of the TPC running that they undertake. Giovinazzi recently extended his reserve contract, alongside his WEC drive.

While Ferrari ran its test programme in Mugello, Mercedes was at Jerez with Valtteri Bottas in action as part of the TPC running. It is not clear if he was the only one. Both F1 teams held their separate private running after their show in Goodwood festival.
