Ferrari has confirmed a third car with Robert Kubica, Robert Shwartzman and Yifei Ye for 2024 FIA WEC season in Hypercar.

Official Ferrari drivers Yifei Ye and Robert Shwartzman will compete in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season at the wheel of the number 83 499P of AF Corse, sharing the cockpit with Robert Kubica. The world championship season will thus feature a third 499P that will compete in the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams, besides the two official cars fielded by Ferrari – AF Corse, the number 50 and 51 driven respectively by Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen and Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi, who will be in contention for the Manufacturers’ title.

Two official Maranello drivers will be on the track with AF Corse. For the 23-year-old Yifei Ye, in his first season with the Prancing Horse, 2024 will be his second year in the top class of the world championship, while for 24-year-old Robert Shwartzman – who raced in last year’s GT World Challenge Europe and turned in the best overall time with the 499P in the rookie tests in Bahrain in November 2023 – this is his debut in the top prototype category in a season when he will also be a reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari.

After the Prologue in Qatar on 24-25 February, the first round of the FIA WEC will run at the same track on 2 March. This will be followed by the races in Imola (Italy; 21 April), Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium; 11 May), Le Mans (France; 15-16 June), São Paulo (Brazil; 14 July), COTA (USA; 1 September), Fuji (Japan; 15 September), and Bahrain (2 November).

Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Endurance and Corse Clienti: “We are delighted to give our official drivers the chance to take part in the entire FIA WEC season in the number 83 Ferrari 499P of the AF Corse team. Yifei has made a name for himself in recent seasons by winning two endurance racing titles. Now he can prove himself in the top world championship category with a Ferrari Hypercar. In contrast, Robert will get to continue on his path with a new challenge after a successful 2023 season that saw him win in Barcelona with the 296 GT3 and adapt brilliantly to the 499P during rookie testing in Bahrain.”
